With a career spanning business, education and public service, Max Burns has a deep understanding of the diverse needs and priorities of Southeast Georgia. He is a proven conservative who will represent and support the priorities of our district and he will leverage the initiatives of our state’s Republican leadership to deliver the best outcomes for our area. Max understands that building relationships is how a legislator creates results. With his knowledge of the political process and having previously represented the majority of our district, he is best positioned to make positive outcomes happen quickly.
With 30 years in education and ground-up experience from the classroom to senior administration to making policy for schools across the nation, Max has dedicated his career to preparing our children for their future. Keeping government within their role is a critical element to securing proper funding and support for local school systems. We must provide educators and local administration the control required to make learning the focus of the classroom. Educational success has a direct impact on our potential for development, and Max will ensure that our options are open to provide every student with the opportunities they need to succeed.
With health delivery sites in three main areas of our district, Max realizes that there is a significant need to shape healthcare policy to better support local and rural healthcare delivery. He will work to improve access and affordability, to improve research and technology and to provide our communities with the tools and connectivity they need to have the care they deserve. Max will also seek to align resources with the overwhelming demand for improved mental health and social services. Max lives on his family farm. He has a firm grasp on the realities that our farming and agribusiness communities are facing in this volatile political environment. With connectivity across the district and our state as well as in the Farm Service Agency, Max will serve as a qualified voice in our state capitol on the issues that matter most in Georgia’s #1 industry. He will also work to find common ground and facilitate solutions between farmers and housing communities as we continue to face expected growth and expansion in our area.
Proposing major interstates to connect Augusta to neighboring states, Max knows that 80% of all jobs are created within 10 miles of these roads. He recognizes that a well-planned and supported infrastructure will link our district to the import/export capabilities of the Port of Savannah and make our communities attractive for major manufacturing and production-based jobs. We offer a major hub and a hardworking workforce, and we need to put them to work.
Economic development is critical for job growth and the longevity of our communities. Max will be resolute to ensure we receive an equitable investment of economic growth from our state’s initiatives. He knows the value of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) and sees potential for growth in cyber technology and manufacturing opportunities. He knows how to leverage the economic engine of the Port of Savannah and he will serve as a leader and advocate to move industrial and service sector jobs into the 23rd senate district.
Max views cyber technology and enhancement as a critical factor to our economic development and he will serve as an advisor to facilitate the extension of broadband and inter-connectivity.
